Meet the Board

Hilary Corsun, President

Hilary has served on the High & Mighty Board since 2013 serving most recently as Chairperson. She grew up with horses and began volunteering with a therapeutic horseback riding program when she was twelve years old. She graduated from Cornell University in 2006 with degrees in Animal Science and Business Management. Hilary is a full-time farmer and is actively involved in sustainable agriculture and food system development. She and her partner Sara live on their farm in nearby Old Chatham, NY with their three rambunctious dogs.

Kay Konove, Secretary

Kay Konove lives in Stockbridge, Mass. and has been a volunteer at High & Mighty since 2008. She has served as treasurer and is currently secretary on the board. Kay has organized fund raising events with the minis as well as taking Scout, the miniature horse, to nursing homes and other activities. She is involved in carriage driving at High & Mighty with her Norwegian Fjord Horse, Sonya. Kay has been on the boards of the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry and the Colonial Carriage & Driving Society. She graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Joseph Ackiewicz, Treasurer

Joe Ackiewicz joined the High & Mighty team in 2017.  He lives in North Chatham with his wife and two daughters, two dogs, two cats and three horses.  He loves skiing and hiking and the Columbia County community.  He is Director of Securities Lending for Bank of America.

Carol Curran, M.D.

Carol’s youngest daughter, Anna, has been riding at High and Mighty for seven years, and Carol has served on the Board for the past 2 years. She is a physician who practices home and palliative care, and a part-time classical vocalist. Her husband, Frank, is a local artist who has volunteered his time and talent for High and Mighty.

Kathleen Dooley

Kathleen works as a freelance Japanese-to-English translator, specializing in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. She has an M.A. and M.Phil. in modern Japanese literature from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Columbia University. She and her husband, George Lytle, reside in Kinderhook, New York, where they have had a home for almost a decade, and in New York City. She shares her homes with pugs and cats and has two horses, Kapitaine and Prahlhans. Kathleen is devoted to clicker training for all her animals and trains and competes with her pugs in obedience, agility, and conformation. She hones her skills in clicker training for horses through clinics and conferences. Kathleen has been a member of the High and Mighty Board since 2017.

Ginger Feldman, PH.D.

Ginger Feldman was born in Manhattan and grew up in Florida.  She is a retired teacher and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Denver.  She has three grown children and two grandchildren.  She has been doing public relations for High & Mighty since our beginnings in 2009!

Patrick Spillman

Patrick Spillman has been involved with High n' Mighty since spring of 2012 and has been a Board Member since 2014. He has over 20 years working in the coffee industry, has worked with such non-for-profit organizations as the Rainforest Alliance and the Colombian Coffee Federation, helping families and communities in coffee producing countries. He continues professionally with his own consulting business. He and his wife, Nancy, have a daughter, Grace who calls High n Mighty her second home. Patrick holds an advertising degree from the University of Bridgeport.

Roberta Maria Baldini

Roberta is currently the Assistant Executive Director of the NYC Campaign Finance Board. Much of her legal career was as an International War Crimes Prosecutor for the United Nations in both Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia and then as Chief of Investigations at UN Headquarters.  Prior to her UN days, she was a Bronx Assistant District Attorney in the Domestic Violence/Sex Crimes Bureau. Roberta has been riding for 12 years, she learned to ride while living and working in Kosovo. Each weekend she’d drive hours to Macedonia to work with a Serbian jumping coach. A true international experience. Roberta has been in Columbia County for more than 20 years where she continues to ride and enjoy the area’s beauty.  She is a keen organic gardener. Roberta is married to Jep Jonson, a Special Education teacher at Antonia Pantoja High School in the Bronx. They have two pugs, Oliver and Tucker. Roberta’ faithful steed is Timber.
