After growing up riding horses on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Jenny Post continued her passion through college on Long Island and in Virginia. But during the 10 years she spent working in magazine publishing in New York City her love of horses had to take a back seat.
In 1985 she and her husband Chris moved up to Columbia County. “Once our two children were older, I felt the need to reconnect with horses. I took jumping and dressage lessons at several local barns. Then, in 2014, Jenny responded to a media release and began to volunteer at High & Mighty. It turned out to be a good fit – she is still volunteering 12 years later! “Through my time volunteering at the farm, I’ve come to realize that everyone here is a teacher: the instructors, who bring their training and leadership; the participants, who
bring their varied interests and a vast range of abilities; and all the volunteers, who bring
their diverse talents and experiences. At the heart of it all, though, are the horses. They are the ones who offer their honest responses to our emotions alongside the willingness to partner with us in this endeavor. It is fair to say that I learn something new every day I spend at High & Mighty. And I feel privileged to be a part of a team that offers so many positive and affirming experiences to so many people.”
We at High & Mighty certainly feel fortunate to have such an incredible volunteer who contributes so much to our team and our community.
